A Scottish Celebration

In anticipation of Burns Night, the Co-operative Funeralcare Band, Scotland’s most successful band presents A Scottish Celebration. An evening of Scottish music conducted by Nigel Boddice MBE on Saturday January 23rd at 7:30pm.

In the band’s first concert of the New Year we travel to Sherbrooke St. Gilbert’s Church in Glasgow to perform a selection of Scottish music and will be joined by the immensely talented singer/songwriter Josie Duncan. You’ll hear plenty of classic Scottish tunes and original music by Scottish composers in what promises to be a thoroughly enjoyable evening of music-making.

We’re delighted to be sharing the stage with Josie who has made a name for herself as a fine young Scottish singer/songwriter. For those of you who haven’t come across her music before, visit her page on SoundCloud for an introduction to this talented lassie’s artistry: https://soundcloud.com/josieduncanmusic.

Our resident conductor, Nigel Boddice made a name for himself as the principal trumpet of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra from 1975 to 1995. Nigel has also worked extensively with young musicians, and was awarded the MBE in 2005 for his work with Scotland’s future generations of brass musicians.

Tickets are available on the door of 240 Nithsdale Rd, Glasgow G41 5AD from 7pm and cost £10 (£8 concessions)  We hope you can join us for this evening of fine Scottish music!
