Bass Trombone - Charlie Farren

As a young boy, Charlie studied under Tom Martin and played with the Fauldhouse Miners Band, Livingston Band and also West Lothian Schools Band.  He studied in Glasgow, at the RSAMD, and Manchester under Chris Starn and Alisdair Sinclair, of the Scottish Opera and RSNO respectively, and is now a peripatetic music teacher with East Lothian Council.  Charlie’s playing career has seen him perform across Europe with various ensembles.  Charlie joined Scottish Co-op in 2000 and also currently holds the position of resident conductor at the Bathgate Band.  In 2008 Charlie became Scottish Trombone Solo Champion.
