Back Row Cornet - Colin Ferguson

Colin started playing aged 11 with the Newmilns Burgh Band being taught by former Co-Op player Matt Paton. Colin played with Newmilns from the fourth through to the Championship Sections enjoying a successful and fruitful spell in the late eighties while on flugel most of the time, he also played PC and soprano at times through the nineties and beyond. Colin joined the Scottish Co Op in 2006 and the highlight so far was winning the Scottish Open with St Magnus in 2008 what a test piece, however his favourite is Ballet For Band especially the slow movement. One of the most enjoyable parts of being involved with this band is performing at the highest level and in some of the top venues in the country.
