The Band

Solo Cornet - Lesley Breen

Lesley started playing the cornet at the age of twelve, taught by Erik Kerr at Holy Cross High School in Hamilton. The following year, she joined Coalburn Silver Band, a busy and friendly third section band in South Lanarkshire, where she was principal cornet for the next eleven years. She then moved on to the Bathgate Band where she played on the front row and Soprano. She moved to Newtongrange Silver Band in 2001, where the highlight was undoubtedly the Scottish Championship win under Allan Ramsay in 2005 and with it the opportunity to play at the Royal Albert Hall for the first time. She joined the Scottish Co-op band on the front row in 2006.
