Death of Bram Thompson

The Co-operative Funeralcare Band regretfully announce the sad passing of Bram Thompson a former solo horn player, secretary and a lifetime supporter of the band. Bram joined the band in 1949 on solo horn, a position he held until 1963. After this time Bram spent his time tirelessly supporting the band and never missing a major championship performance. His passing ends a 63 year association with the band

His very close friend David Read, contacted the band to express his condolences and said" he was your greatest fan and follower, he will be sadly missed”.

Band Chairman, Paul Kiernan said “it’s a very sad time for the band and our thoughts are with his family at this time. In true Bram style he had been in contact with the band only last week asking how the band was playing ahead of our regional contest on Sunday 11th, his love for the band was never ending”.

Bram was a true bandsman and a fine example to everyone in the brass band movement. He will be sorely missed by all his friends in the band.

The band will play and record two hymns at Bram's request, to be played at his funeral.
