  • Kiernan Returns To The Co-operative Funeralcare Band
    Following hard on the heels of the announcement of the return of cornetist Jim Hayes to its ranks, The Co-operative Funeralcare Band is pleased to announce the return of another former player in the person of trombonist Paul Kiernan. Paul will play with the band at the forthcoming “Land O’ Burns” contest in Troon as a result of current principal trombonist, Gregor Stewart, being unavailable due to work commitments.
  • Band's Programme For Edinburgh Recital Announced
    Following the announcement that The Co-operative Funeralcare Band Ensemble would be performing at St. Mary's Episcopal Cathedral on Tuesday, 25nd August, 2009 as part of that church's series of recitals during the Edinburgh "Fringe" Festival, the band's programe for the event has been announced.
  • Another First For Scottish Co-op Band
    At the Scottish Brass Band Championships in Dundee on 22nd March, 2009 the Scottish Co-op Band added another first to its impressive record when it became the first band to win the new James Abbott Memorial Trophy.
  • Scottish Co-op Players Win Awards At Dundee
    In addition to the Scottish Co-op Band winning the Scottish Championship title at the Scottish Brass Band Championships in Dundee on 22nd March, 2009, three of the band's principal players won individual awards.
  • Open Rehearsal Hailed As A Success
    The recently - publicised open rehearsal hosted by the Scottish Co-op Band has been hailed as a success. The event took place in the Couper Institute, Glasgow on Thursday, 19th March, 2009 and during the evening the participating bands had the opportunity to perform the test pieces chosen for the Scottish Championships which were subsequently held at the Caird Hall, Dundee on 21st and 22nd March.
  • Scottish Co-op Band Wins 29th Scottish Title
    At the Caird Hall in Dundee on Sunday, 22nd March, 2009 the Scottish Co-op Band continued the good form it showed in Perth last November, when it won the Scottish Open Championship, by adding the 2009 Scottish Championship to its list of achievements. This is the twenty-ninth time the Co-op has won the title.
  • Scottish Championships Line-up Finalised for 22 March
    The Scottish Co-op Band has now finalised its line-up for the Scottish Championships  on 22nd March with the announcement that Christine Millar and Lyndsay Smith have returned to the ranks to help the band in its challenge for the Scottish title at the Caird Hall in Dundee. Christine takes the flugel horn position for the competition while Lyndsay teams up with Matt Maines and Iain Chisholm in the horn section.
  • Scottish Co-op Band To Host Open Rehearsal
    On Thursday, 19th March, the Scottish Co-op Band will host an open rehearsal in the Couper Institute in Glasgow in which five bands (one from each section) will take part.
  • Joint Concert At Strathbrock Community Centre
    On Friday, 27th February, 2009 the Scottish Co-op Band joined forces with Broxburn and Livingston Band to give a concert in the Strathbrock Community Centre in Broxburn.

    On Sunday, 8th February, 2009 Charlie Farren, bass trombonist of the Scottish Co-op Band took part in the Besson Scottish Solo and Ensemble Championships at the Strathbrock Community Centre in Broxburn.

    On Tuesday,16th December, 2008 the Scottish Co-op Band appeared in its final concert of the year at the City Halls in Glasgow along with the Scottish Concert Singers and members of the Barrhead Philharmonic Choir.

    On Friday 27th February, 2009 Terry Johns will conduct the Scottish Co-op Band at a concert in which they will share the stage with the Broxburn & Livingston band at the Strathbrock Hall, Broxburn.

    On Sunday, 14th December, 2008 the Scottish Co-op Band appeared in its penultimate concert performance of the year at Paisley Town Hall as guests of the Paisley Philharmonic Choir. The occasion was the choir's 20th anniversary Family Carol Concert.

    On Tuesday, 2nd December, 2008 the Scottish Co-op Band band shared the stage with young brass players from the East Lothian area in a Christmas concert in Ross High School, Tranent.

    On Saturday, 29th November, 2008, the Scottish Co-op Brass Band, one of Scotland's top bands, won the Scottish Open Brass Band Championship in the Perth Concert Hall in this, its 90th anniversary year.
  • Faces new and old at Scottish Co-op
    On 21st November, 2008, the Scottish Co-op Band was pleased to announce the addition of a new player to its percussion section in the person of Kirsten Hughes. Kirsten, who hails from Baillieston in Glasgow, is a fourth-year student at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and has been playing percussion for ten years

    On 9th December, 2008, the Scottish Co-op Band was pleased to announce that Russell Gray had agreed to conduct the band at the Scottish Championships in March 2009 when the test piece will be "Salute To Youth" by Gilbert Vinter

  • Gregor Stewart appointed principal trombone at Scottish Co-op
    On 19th November, 2008, the Scottish Co-op Band announced that Gregor Stewart was taking over the position of principal trombone with immediate effect thereby filling the vacancy created by the recent resignation of Paul Kiernan from that position.
  • Giliian Forsyth returns to Scotish Co-op
    On 19th November, 2008, the Scottish Co-op Band announced the return of Gillian Forsyth to the baritone section after an absence of some years. Gillian's last performance with the band was in 2000 and her return was a great boost to the band prior to its participation in the Scottish Open Championships in Perth later in the month.

    Following their return from a successful concert in Inverness last week-end, members of the Scottish Co-op Band were delighted to learn that, from 1st November, 2008, the band would have a permanent base in Dalmarnock in the east end of the City of Glasgow.

    On 30th April, 2008 the Scottish Co-op Band announces that Russell Gray has agreed to conduct the band in the forthcoming semi-final of the West Lothian Challenge on Sunday, 1st June, 2008. On that date the band will do battle with Kirkintilloch and Kinneil for a place in the final on Sunday, 22nd June, 2008
