Scottish Championships Line-up Finalised for 22 March
The Scottish Co-op Band has now finalised its line-up for the Scottish Championships on 22nd March with the announcement that Christine Millar and Lyndsay Smith have returned to the ranks to help the band in its challenge for the Scottish title at the Caird Hall in Dundee. Christine takes the flugel horn position for the competition while Lyndsay teams up with Matt Maines and Iain Chisholm in the horn section.
This will not be the first time that Christine has played the flugel horn with the band. Christine herself said "I played flugel in the National Championships at the Royal Albert Hall in 1996 when the band won the title for the second time and I will be doing my best next week-end to ensure the band puts up a good show in Dundee".
Lyndsay, the band's former solo horn player, returns to play second horn at the Championships. She joined the band in1999 but has taken a break in recent years following the birth of her daughter. Lyndsay said "I am delighted to be able, once again, to add my experience to the band in its forthcoming concert and contest schedule"
The presence of Lyndsay and Christine in the line-up will be of great help to the band as it attempts to win the Scottish Championship for the twenty-ninth time and continue the good form it showed when winning the Scottish Open Championship last November.
