The Co-operative Funeralcare Band is pleased to announce that Dr. Nicholas Childs has agreed to conduct the band at the forthcoming Scottish Championships in Perth in February 2011 when the test piece will be Philip Wilby's "Paganini Variations". Dr. Childs' first association with the band goes back to the millennium at the Royal Albert Hall. In the following years he led the band to victories in the Scottish and the inaugural All England Masrters International Championships.
Speaking on behalf of the band, manager Robert McCorkell said "The band is looking forward with great anticipation to renewing what has been a most successful partnership in the past and is hoping that the partnership will once again produce a performance to remember".
Dr. Childs commented "I first conducted the Co. over 10 years ago. They are a unique band with real flair and tremendous passion. I look forward with real appetite to working on Wilby's "Paganini" and converting that passion into a musical performance".
